Jan’s FeLion

We cannot imagine a better vacation than our time on Jan's FeLion, The boat was a great fit for us. The crew keeps it in meticulous shape. Our cabins were awesome and were kept them in tip-top shape. We mainly lived outdoors, dined outdoors, sunned, made the crossing on the bridge. It was spectacular!
We all love to cook and initially were disappointed that we wouldn't be in the galley. That disappointment passed after the chef prepared our first meal. Chartering with a chef is seamless. The preference materials that you complete are your only responsibility. You don't have to plan meals, provision, worry about proper storage, forgetting something -- no worries, the crew handles everything. He is a skilled chef and simply a good guy with an easy nature. Every meal a treat. The crew is so service-hearted and gracious. They were always at the ready with coffee, cocktails, water toys. They learned our preferences and anticipated our needs. What a great smiles and laughs. Captain is an ace. He has confidence and obvious skill. One is instantly at ease knowing that he will be running the show and handling all the decisions on the crossings, the moorings, anchoring, dinghy trips, fresh water and all. He communicated clearly regarding our itinerary, careful to consider our desires and kept us on a wonderful schedule. He also shared a couple of his favorite hikes with us. We loved being on shore and learning from him.
As in life, it is about relationships. The best part of our trip -- not the stellar boat and accommodations, not the delicious food and beverages, not the carefree adventure, not the glorious Caribbean islands with picturesque mountains, flora and fauna and crystal-clear turquoise and deep blue waters, not the adorable island stops and watering holes. Hands down, it was the crew! We loved the blessing of getting to know them a little and sharing the week with them.
After a couple of tough years of healthcare challenges, this charter was balm to our souls. We'd love to do it again. And again. And again!
Thanks to you for guiding us through all the planning and preparation. Everything exceeded our expectations!

We have just returned from the family holiday of a lifetime aboard Jan’s Felion. My husband and and I and our 3 children aged 15, 14 and 12 loved every minute! We are a well travelled family and have experienced some beautiful 5 star hotels together in great locations but what set this experience apart was the combination of the beautiful boat itself which was SO comfortable and spacious, the incredible team and outstanding food and warm hospitality and the fact that you experience new and exciting islands and adventures in the BVI each day of your 7 days on board, no two days are the same! From the minute we boarded in Tortola and tasted the chef’s delicious ceviche for lunch and the captain took us through a suggested itinerary for our week we knew we were in for a very special time. My husband and kids scuba dive and they arranged a beautiful spot for them to dive and for me to spend the afternoon (complete with wonderful pool loungers and a gorgeous boutique for shopping!). Our kids love wake boarding and the captain took them out on long excursions behind the tender. We explored pristine gorgeous bays and had super fun days enjoying delicious cocktails at beach bars. A stand out day for me was the day we hired a Moke and scooter and explored the beautiful island of Anegada. We enjoyed a day of beautiful snorkelling and the beach, fun island exploration and ended the day sun-kissed and happy having an amazing Lobster dinner with our Jan’s Felion family at Sam’s restaurant where we all competed in a limbo competition and danced the night away! This was the BEST vacation we have EVER had! The captain was so nice and super professional. He is a very experienced sailor with great knowledge. He is supremely professional and knowledgeable. He also helped out with the chef in the galley all the time. It was a team effort and they all seem to have gotten along well. The chef: Sooo impressed with her cooking skills and the fact she is self-taught. Amazing!!! Every single meal was AMAZING! We went to stay at Little Dix after the charter and missed her food the most. We are foodies and were blown away with the talent she has. We were surprised at the quality of food as well. The breads and cheeses were so impressive too! Couldn’t believe she found such excellent quality cheese on the islands. She should have her own cooking show or write a cook book… THAT GOOD! The stew was AMAZING as well. We absolutely LOVED her too! She was always helpful with anything and everything. She was the sweetest and we loved having her on board and commented of how well this trio got along and worked very well together. Her cocktails were PERFECT! Not too strong, and not to weak, just right! Very creative and they looked forward to her cocktail of the day. She was truly AMAZING! Enough to invite her to their home anytime she is in their neck of the woods! The toys were amazing. We LOVED the sea scooter. We had the most fun on this. And, we loved the boat too! So impressed. Very spacious and great sitting areas. She was beautiful and we loved every minute on her!

On the 15th day of November, our lives have forever changed! God has blessed us with two amazing people. Six friends started out to sail at sea with you two and now became eight friends! How do we thank you for all you have done for us? The personal tours, amazing food, drinks, etc. The laughter, fun times, early morning breakfasts, fantastic lunches and over the moon dinners. So attentive to every detail. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! When you up in Michigan come stay with us, we’d love to have you both. God bless you both, keep you safe at sea and the wind always be in your sails. Love you kids!

(Review is from crew’s previous yacht) What a great Captain! He was engaged in every aspect of the boat not just driving from spot to spot. And the chef was a great chef and wonderful personality. All of her meals were outstanding in flavor, and the presentation was on point. You will never go hungry with her around. The boat was a very nice motor cat. There was plenty of room on the boat for a party of 6-8. The front of the boat did not have a net which made for a lot more room. All of the chaises and cushions were very soft. The beds were very comfortable with very soft sheets which is very important to us. Our itinerary worked our really well. After breakfast the crew would start the day laying out the map figuring our next stop. We were a little worried that we would not be able to get off the boat much because of the pandemic, but this is not the case. There are several places to get off have a walk, drink, or bite to eat. There were plenty of activities to enjoy on the boat. Our son enjoyed the BOB the most. You have about eight different things to choose from, which is more than enough.

Your ability to provide first class service in a relaxing “family” atmosphere was masterful and deeply enjoyable. Thank you!

Jan’s Felion and her crew …how will we survive without you? Its only been one week, but you have raised the bar in all ways. This trip has exceeded all expectations. The boat is meticulously maintained, the food has blown us away every day and night, and the drinks and hospitality has warmed our hearts. You are going to have to kick us off because we are not leaving!

The McKennon Family is so appreciative for the “best ever week onboard Jan’s FeLion. From the moment we boarded we were amazed at what a beautiful home we had. The captain took amazing care of us and provided the exact perfect spot and activity for each day. The chef prepared photo ready and delicious dishes at each meal. The stewardess kept our cocktails full and our hearts warmed as she cared to our every want and need. Best week full of family memories!”

What an amazing vacation!!! I don’t even know where to begin to thank you! We enjoyed ourselves and had so much fun with you! The tubing, beach outings, and just spending time relaxing on the boat have all been restorative to our souls and a well needed rest. Then there is the food. Every meal was incredibly delicious and we are very grateful to the care and effort put into making meals and service. We were on the boat during some anxiety- and the crew provided the respite that we needed to focus on what’s important, our family and healthy and safety. What an amazing week…we gathered from all over…Colorado, Wilmington, NC Toronto, Grand Is/ and NY + Ohio. We had no idea what an amazing week we would experience….The BVI’s are special but the crew took the trip to a whole other level .. you are so good at what you do…the chef with food better than any restaurant on the island and a positive and cheery attitude that welcomes all, the captain made us all feel so safe & you knew he always has your back, the quiet steady presence of a true professional..And the stewardess, the glue that kept us all together, enjoying the trip + taking care of our every need. We will have life long memories thanks to you three…Back to the real world but remembering our amazing week in the BVIs.
