  CAPTAIN JAKE  & CHEF/MATE CAITLIN

  Jake is an experienced yachtsman with an impressive sailing record, having covered over 40,000 nautical miles, including four Atlantic crossings, dozens of Mediterranean crossings, and extensive yachting experience around the south coast of England. He began his sailing journey on Hayling Island, off the south coast of the UK. Jake started dinghy sailing at age 9, quickly progressing to national junior champion and representing GBR in numerous world championship events at the youth level.

  Over his 10-year career in yachting, he has worked in the superyacht sector on racing yachts and high-performance carbon yachts. His previous role as 1st mate on a 148ft carbon yacht and two seasons on Adagio provided him with extensive experience in various conditions, environments, and locations. His yachting studies have earned him his Officer of the Watch 3000gt, qualifying him to be an officer on yachts over 80m/262ft. Jake brings a wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and a genuine love for the sea, guaranteeing a safe and memorable sailing experience for all who embark on his voyages.

  Caitlin is a foodie. She loves making food and has an unrelenting desire to please people with it. With over eight years of experience in the superyacht industry, she has worked on a variety of yachts across the globe. She has completed three Atlantic crossings on sailing and motor yachts, accumulating thousands of miles.

  Caitlin’s journey took an exciting turn when she had the opportunity to work under two incredible Italian chefs, which enriched her culinary skills with elegance and sophistication. Their mentorship helped shape her creativity and push her talents to the next level. Born in South Africa and raised in a family that loves a traditional “braai,” she was surrounded by diverse cuisines and cultures from a young age. Besides her culinary skills, she is irresistibly drawn to the sea and finds solace and inspiration from its depths. Cheffing is her passion, making it her long-term career path. Caitlin brings a desire to provide exquisite meals against the backdrop of the beautiful Caribbean Sea.

  STEWARDESS CHARNE

  Charne found her for nature in her South African upbringing. introduced to diving by her partner, Charne dove headfirst into the wonders of the ocean. Working at a dive resort in Sodwana Bay, she immersed herself in daily dives, cultivating a passion that propelled her towards the path of becoming a Dive Master soon. Beyond the depths, Charne’s upbringing in South Africa, a country with an extremely diverse culinary culture, her culinary enthusiasm blossomed from a young age, evolving into a profound love of cooking and baking. Her experimentation with diverse cuisines became a cherished pastime, enriching her life with the joy of culinary discovery.

  Dream Vacation

  Our charter boat vacation was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to an incredible crew and an impeccably maintained catamaran. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew was engaging, warm, and genuinely pleasant, making us feel at home right away.
  One of the standout features of this trip was having the ability to dive directly from the boat. Being able to slip into the water whenever the mood struck was absolutely incredible and added a level of adventure we didn’t expect but absolutely loved. The flexibility that comes with chartering was a huge highlight as well; the crew was extremely accommodating and made every effort to tailor our itinerary and onboard experience to exactly what we wanted.
  
  Let’s talk about the food and drinks, because wow. The coffee, cocktails, and meals were true showstoppers. Every sip and bite felt like a high-end treat, and the overall dining experience elevated the entire trip.
  
  The catamaran itself was spotless. Not only was it beautifully kept from the start, but the crew did an amazing job maintaining its tidiness throughout our stay without ever feeling intrusive.
  On top of all that, the water toys made our time aboard even more fun. The sea foil and sea scooters were exciting additions that kept everyone entertained for hours.
  
  Overall, this was a dream vacation, made extraordinary by an exceptional crew, flawless service, and unforgettable moments. We can’t recommend this charter highly enough!

  The Very Best In The BVI

  I went on a trip recently with my family through the BVI. The crew on Minted One was incredible!! The ship is absolutely gorgeous! The amount of water toys will keep you busy. The bays that the Captain takes you to makes it feel like you are a local. Some real hidden gems that never seemed too busy. Along with the most beautiful water I have ever seen.
  
  I personally don’t know how the crew could have done any better. Every meal from the Chef prepared was what you would expect of a 3 star Michelin dining experience. Our whole family was beyond impressed with every dish she concocted along with some of the best sauce pairings I have ever tasted. Anna was truly remarkable going above and beyond to give the best level of service. Come ready to truly be treated to some of the best and most refreshing drinks in the Caribbean.
  
  This crew made it feel like we were family. Full of laughs and genuine care. I work in the hospitality industry and the crews level of hospitality is truly outstanding. They made us feel so at home that my 2 year old started calling our Captain Uncle Jake. Although he is the Captain on paper some of the family would say it’s the chef with how impressive her food is. This experience is worth every penny! This crew and ship are a must have part of a truly incredible BVI vacation!

  10+ Stars

  How many stars is one able to give before they become meaningless? Out of 5 stars, I give the crew, the boat and the charter company a 10+.
  
  I’ll start with the boat: absolutely stunning. Gorgeous inside and out, the details are elegant and impeccable (according to my very untrained eye) and the feeling is elevated comfort with the right amount of luxury to feel special. I never once felt like I was camping or crowded or that I even wanted to get off the boat (I would still like to be back on the boat). We only learned later how the crew and Epic Yacht Charters  moved heaven and earth and called in every favor in to get the essentials needed for a charter, much of it borrowed. Everything from the bedding to decorative table scapes to never seeming to run out of wine glasses somehow was seamless. We had no idea how it all came together at the last minute.
  
  Which may be due to the crew. The level of professionalism, expertise, and composure on a brand new boat on its very first charter, and first charter as a team, was top notch. When including three great personalities, you truly have the A-team crewing the Minted One. Their ability to manage our group of middle aged motley crew who don’t know how to act our ages with patience and grace was perfect. We had some ridiculous requests, in particular with the planning and execution of a surprise birthday party and the crew absolutely blew us out of the water with the way they embraced the request and executed flawlessly.
  
  From the outset The Captain was very personable, direct, clearly knowledgeable and dealt with our many requests with a great attitude. He also demonstrated great leadership by stepping in and supporting his team where needed. He was fun to have as our Captain and answered ALL of our questions about everything.
  
  To call the meals prepared by The Chef amazing does not do them justice. The food was incredible! I don’t want to say too much or future charter guests won’t ever want to dine off the boat, but she did in fact serve the single best fish meal OF MY LIFE, and the Thai Steak salad for lunch was easily on the top 5 of at least the last decade. There was another debate at lunch one day where chef's delivery on gourmet cheeseburgers was the single best we’ve ever had - and Americans eat a lot of cheeseburgers. She paid exceptional attention to our preference sheets, accommodating each of our weird issues, and provided fresh, flavorful delicious dishes spanning a wide range of cuisines at every meal. I may not eat that well again for a very long time.
  
  I am convinced that the stewardess is a triplet and all 3 live on the boat, sharing her job. She has an unbelievable ability to simultaneously refill your coffee, set a perfect table, impeccably service your cabin and mix a mean Bloody Mary. All at the same time! How? And with a smile and such an even temperament that we never saw break. And we tested it! I never saw her sit down. She is highly professional and gracious, her extensive training on the “big boat, attention to detail and awesome personality shined brightly.
  
  We were so grateful to have this crew and sail on the Minted One for our trip. The you Epic for making this happen for us. Don’t be surprised when you see us again!

  FABULOUS!!!

  (Review from crew's previous yacht) First ever excursion on a crewed catamaran and Adagio's crew set the bar so highly that we doubt any crew will ever match them! We had our family aboard for a week and every day was amazing! The boat is luxurious and super clean. They work together as such a cohesive team. The captain knows all of the best spots to snorkel and hang out. Th chef's food is so delicious and healthy! Fantastic experience!!!

  At Home!

  (Review from crew's previous yacht) The crew made us feel like all our wishes came true. We were always at a perfectly fascinating spot at the right time. Our days were amazingly planned out, they felt long and satisfying. We did so much and yet feel like it was a super relaxing vacation. Every day was a surprise. Captain is a great captain and knows the BVI really well, we always felt safe.
  Chef's cuisine was so wonderful, every meal was prepared with meticulous care, the flavors were amazing, the presentation spectacular. On top of that they were well balanced nutritionally. They were served without asking, at the perfect time between activities.
  While providing a wonderful service, it felt like they were invisible angels taking care of us. We felt like we were at home and not guests on the yacht.
  We pretty much surrendered all our decisions to their team, which made it the ultimate relaxation experience. We now know that it is the crew that makes the trip.
