  CAPTAIN FLORIAN

  Florian hails from the scenic region of Bavaria in southern Germany, where he spent his childhood exploring the Alps and windsurfing on the crystal-clear lakes. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart and has expanded his expertise with further studies in Sustainable Manufacturing and Management in New Zealand and La Réunion.

  Professionally, Florian has built a diverse career. Alongside his work in engineering consulting and project management, he has spent the past decade as a charter skipper, leading sailing adventures across the globe, from the Mediterranean to the remote islands of Tahiti.

  An avid sportsman, Florian enjoys windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving, soccer, and snowboarding, and has traveled to 45 countries in pursuit of new adventures. Being fluent in German and English, and having advanced skills in French and Spanish, rounds out his quest for culture and a broader understanding of the world. All of this, coupled with his passion for the ocean and his technical background, makes him a well-rounded companion for sailing adventures.

  CHEF NICOLE

  Growing up in Southern Germany, Nicole spent countless hours cooking alongside her grandmother and mother, forming cherished memories in the kitchen. Her favorite childhood moments, however, took place in the family garden, where her grandfather instilled in her a deep appreciation for locally sourced, high-quality ingredients.

  After earning a degree in Business and Journalism, Nicole moved to Berlin to immerse herself in the entrepreneurial world, gaining valuable experience working for startups and investors. Attending Europe’s largest tech conferences and engaging with countless founders from diverse industries, she sharpened her skills in detail-oriented, fast-paced environments. Berlin’s multicultural atmosphere fueled her culinary curiosity, inspiring her to explore a wide range of cuisines. Amidst the city’s vibrant energy, Nicole became known as the go-to host for unforgettable dinner parties, where her love for creating exceptional food experiences truly shone.

  In the beginning of 2024, Nicole decided to swap the concrete jungle for clear waters and beautiful beaches. She spent five months sailing across the Mediterranean Sea and working as a private chef. One of her favorite parts of this new chapter is sourcing fresh ingredients at early morning markets and crafting nutritious, seasonal meals that reflect the essence of each region.

  For Nicole, being a chef is about far more than crafting delicious dishes. It’s about bringing people together, fostering meaningful connections, and creating lasting memories. She believes the magic of a meal lies in the conversations shared and the moments savored over great food and drinks.

  Pirates in Paradise

  I would like to reflect on the week in paradise and wine consumption...we always had enough! From the food to the friendship - nothing short of memorable! You guys were wonderful to set up everything that we did each day - we offer our apologies now for everything we should not have done :) Late nights playing spoons, nobody would get up early, New Years Eve at Foxy's. Every meal was wonderful, thank you Chef! We are the pirates in paradise! So glad you put up with us and our costumes, but it was fun to have them at Willy T's!!

  Unforgettable First Trip in the BVI

  Thank you for an unforgettable trip! Our first time in the BVI, you offered excellent suggestions of places to see and intuitively planned a smooth and efficient itinerary for us. Chef – every meal was better than the last, and you were so kind to allow our budding teenage chefs engage with you in the kitchen. You truly have a gift with culinary talent. Your variety, flavor, and presentation is unmatched. Captain, you expertly and confidently navigated our journey with perfect suggestions on where to go. Thank you for being so willing to teach our kids about sailing, and the many wakeboarding trips you took them on were a highlight of the trip. You both provided wonderfully hospitality and made us feel at home as we spent our first Christmas away from home. We enjoyed having Christmas dinner with you! Thank you for a perfect week. We wish you both the best in your travels! Stay in Touch!

  Ultimate BVI Experience

  It is such a pleasure to recommend an Adventure on Katlo. The crew are the ultimate hosts. From our meeting them at the airport, they have done everything possible to ensure we had the ultimate BVI sailing experience! We had the opportunity to visit many islands, snorkel and swim, laugh a lot  and relax. The fabulous chef and spoiled us with delicious food and spectacular presentations.   You have Set a New Standard

  Spectacular

  We really enjoyed our trip! Everything was spectacular! Captain was such a wonderful captain and so knowledgeable. Chef knocked every meal out of the park! Her food was fantastic. Everyday was so awesome we absolutely loved the entire sailing experience. Thank you! The boat is so beautiful we were so fortunate to have booked our trip with Katlo.
