  CAPTAIN GRANT

  Captain Grant Surtees, a British-South African national, holds his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore 200T (Sail) and IYT Master of Yachts 200T (Power) and has over seven years of professional yachting experience. He has commanded sailing and motor yachts across the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mediterranean. Experienced in both technical operations and guest-focused service, Grant is known for his approachable leadership style, meticulous attention to safety, and ability to create memorable guest experiences. His passion for the ocean and versatile skill set make him an excellent captain.

  CHEF ASH

  Chef Ash Bergh is a classically trained yacht chef with over 20 years of culinary experience across fine dining and luxury yachting. Her style is refined, ingredient-driven, and globally inspired, with particular strength in Mediterranean, Indian, and Asian cuisines. Known for her calm professionalism and ability to tailor menus precisely to guest preferences and dietary needs, she consistently delivers elevated, beautifully presented cuisine in high-performance charter environments.

  MATE/ENGINEER JUAN

  Mate/Engineer Juan Groenewald, a South African national, offers 10 years of maritime experience with strong technical and diving expertise. Certified in STCW, PADI Divemaster, freediving, and commercial diving, he has worked extensively in the Caribbean as a marine technician and first mate. He has led maintenance across a fleet of 25 yachts, handling mechanical, electrical, and underwater repairs. Energetic, guest-focused, and detail-oriented, Juan combines technical precision with a love for the sea, making him an invaluable asset aboard.

  The most incredible trio ever!!!

  I cannot even begin to explain how incredible our experience was, from the very first second we stepped foot on the boat to our departure our trip was incredible! The amount of detail and the attention to detail was outstanding! The boat itself is absolutely incredible, so beautiful and well kept! The back deck is set up perfectly for hanging out, eating with the most incredible views and so inviting! The interior was perfectly decorated and so inviting! The rooms were inviting and comfortable! Now once you get past the beauty of the boat this trip is all about the crew! I cannot say enough nice things about each one of them! They truly made this trip what it was! Chef's food was the most amazing food I’ve had on a trip! Every single meal was “the best meal we’ve ever had” and I mean that! Map time was always our favorite to hear where we would be heading based on the weather! We were always so impressed with the attention to detail! Overall if you are considering this trip do it, you won’t be disappointed! I knew this would be an amazing trip but had no idea we would leave feeling like it was truly the trip of a lifetime!!!   Bucket List Trip

  Spent 7 nights on Moon Shadow. Traveled with 4 other couples. it was THE best week! The boat was beautiful. The efoil and sea bob were an absolute blast! The crew made the charter extra special! Every meal was so delicious, and Captain took us to the best spots in the BVI. Highly recommend!

  Spectacular trip of a Lifetime

  We just returned from a week on Moon Shadow cruising the British Virgin Islands with the most spectacular crew-our chef prepared every meal as if we were in a 5 star restaurant tailoring every meal to every guests preferences. The crew were the perfect team in every way. Preparing itinerary, planning games, and providing for our every wish. Our crew was always smiling and engaging and really enhanced our whole trip experience. This was a fantasy trip in every way that everyone should experience in their lifetime. The luxurious yacht and breathtaking scenery exceeded our expectations. Would rate this as the best trip we have ever been on!

  Christmas Vacation in the BVI

  Had the most amazing week ever on the Moon Shadow yacht! The food was incredible every day, and the views were unlike anything I've ever seen before. The feeling of waking up on the boat every morning and knowing the day would bring amazing activities is unmatched. The crew really made the vacation special.   Our week on Moon Shadow was the most incredible week we will never forget! The crew were attentive to every single detail and went out of the way to make sure we had the best time. They were so fun and anticipated every need before we even knew we needed it! Chef's food was unique and delicious, and we looked forward to every meal. That will definitely be missed at home. It was fun to eat new things we would never have tried on our own and realized we actually loved! We did so many things, every day was different, and the crew made it all so much fun. There was never a dull moment! We are sad to go home and hope to be able to cruise with them again soon!!

  The best trip!!!

  This trip was amazing!!! The crew made the week incredible and unforgettable. There was never one thing to worry about! They were so fun to be around! They knew so many things and made everything easy and fun. Chef made the most incredible food that we devoured within seconds. The Moonshadow boat was beautiful, clean and well maintained.   Best Trip Ever!

  Holy cow what a week!!! None of us knew what to expect when we stepped foot on to the Moon Shadow but in an instant i knew it was going to be an amazing week. The crew were competent, kind, fun, and knew how to make sure we had the best time. Every detail was perfectly executed. The food was INCREDIBLE! Chef wowed us every single meal! I fell in love with the BVI and would book another vacation on Moon Shadow in a heartbeat!
