  CAPTAIN FRANCOIS & MATE/CHEF KATIE

  Hailing from South Africa, Francois has been working in the marine industry for several years. He first came to the BVI after hurricanes Irma and Maria to assist with mass yacht salvage and cleanup. Working as a commercial diver, he was doing everything from cleaning cruise ship propellers to working alongside ‘Beyond The Reef’ on the epic Willy T and Sharkplano dive projects. A real waterman, he loves kiting, diving, or fishing and can’t wait to welcome his guests onboard!

  Chef Katie has been in the industry for 9 years, working on yachts in the Med and the Caribbean since 2016. She’s passionate about feeding her guests as much fresh, local produce as possible, supporting local businesses and farms in the BVI, and has forged great relationships with some of the best local suppliers.
  Her favorite type of cooking? Fresh, healthy, and vibrant dishes, whilst saving a little room for dessert, because everyone knows we don’t count calories on the water.
  Alongside her partner, Francois, she cannot wait to welcome guests and show them what the home of ‘nature’s little secrets’ has to offer!

  A Truly Incredible Experience

  Our recent New Year's charter on Aura was truly the vacation of a lifetime. It was a first for us, and it exceeded ALL of our expectations -- which, admittedly, were very high, considering that we planned this trip nearly two years in advance!
  
  It's hard to imagine a more perfect way to experience the BVI, or a better crew with which to share it. While the beauty of the BVI is undeniable, it was the crew of Aura who transformed this vacation into something deeply meaningful and unforgettable.
  
  From the moment we stepped aboard Aura, the captain set the tone with his professionalism, confidence and warm hospitality. His deep knowledge of the islands, flawless seamanship and easygoing manner made us feel completely at ease and allowed us to enjoy every moment -- except perhaps when he decided to grace us with his karaoke rendition of "Big and Chunky" (ha ha). He was constantly focused on making sure that we were happy and comfortable. I especially appreciated his willingness to be flexible with the itinerary each day, truly wanting to make it special and customized for each member of my family.
  
  Our chef, absolutely blew us away. Every meal was creative, beautifully presented and delicious (Michelin star quality) cuisine tailored perfectly to our tastes. We found ourselves looking forward to each meal as much as the new destinations we explored each day. She poured her heart into each and every meal, all of which were simply outstanding. But even more impressive was the care and thoughtfulness that she put behind her culinary creations. As talented a chef as she is, she is an even better human and showed us such an incredible amount of warmth and hospitality. As I noted earlier, my expectations were very high going into this trip; but I was truly surprised -- if not awed -- at the excellence of the meals on Aura. And, yes . . . thanks to you, we are baking up weekly batches of your Maple Brown Sugar cookies at home now to get us through the snowy winter in St. Louis!
  
  Our stewardess and dive master, was simply amazing! Her warmth, attentiveness and positive energy were felt in everything she did -- whether it was patiently working with my daughter on me on our certification dives, teaching us about underwater life, or just quietly anticipating what we needed before we even asked. After discovering a common bond with my wife, she demonstrated an incredible outpouring of compassion and support, and that will never be forgotten. Thank you! We are incredibly grateful for you.
  
  I simply cannot say enough about this crew. By the end of the week, each one of them felt like family. They laughed with us, shared stories, played games and created an atmosphere that was relaxed, welcoming and full of joy. My family and I will be forever grateful for the memories that they created for us. I cannot imagine sailing on another charter without the three of them at our side.
  
  I hope to be back on Aura soon and cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

  Best Trip Ever!

  THE BEST TRIP EVER!  This crew, boat, food,  itinerary-every aspect was unforgettable.  I feel so lucky to have been able to sail on the Aura. I will never forget this week!
  
  This was the best week of my life.  The crew really made this so special, and I cannot imagine doing this with anyone else!  The food, itinerary and diving certification was something I’ll cherish forever-the best week ever!  I hope to sail with you guys again!!
  
  Had the best time ever!  Loved learning the e-foil and using the sea bobs.  It was so cool watching Arden and Jeff get scuba certified from the boat too.  The food was so amazing and I loved the Bloody Marys.  Loved the crew and I hope I can come sail on Aura again.
  
  Best week ever-I wish I could live on the Aura forever.  I could write a book about all the things I loved this week but some highlights were:  them teaching me to e-foil, the delicious food, and always having coffee ready for me in the morning, and playing Oh Hell with the crew and the whole family.  THANK YOU to the Aura crew for such a special and unforgettable vacation.  I hope to be back on the Aura with this crew soon!
  
  How will I put into words this experience? Amazing? Incredible? ‘Once in a lifetime?’  All seem too trite.  We loved every minute of this journey.  It was especially special to me as I am facing a new chapter in my life.  Thanks for making this the most incredible trip of my chapter thus far.

  A Christmas To Remember!

  Thank you so much for helping us have an amazing Christmas with my siblings.  We haven’t spent a Christmas together in many years.  It has been delightful, I loved the diving - the crew were fabulous guides on all the dives.  I am a better diver because of it.  The food was unforgettable.  Such beautiful meals.  Thank you!  Thank you! Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!  All of your passion shines through in every aspect of the trip.  The memories that we’ve made on this trip will forever be held on to.  It was definitely as holiday to remember.

  We are so incredibly thankful for this unforgettable journey and for the amazing people who made it so special. From the moment we stepped aboard, you gave our family a gift—so many firsts that we’ll always remember: paddleboarding, e-foiling, catching a tarpon, the shot ski, and numerous other little adventures in between that made us laugh and connect.
  
  But what made this trip truly meaningful wasn’t just the new experiences—it was being able to share a powerful last. Captain, your care and presence as my dad fulfilled his wish to dive one final time meant more than words can express. Watching him underwater with my son, guided by you, was like witnessing a beautiful passing of the torch—a moment that will stay with us forever. Your incredible patience while my son wanted to do every activity on board—and your ability to make him fall in love with fishing—was a gift all its own.
  
  Stewardess—thanks for making us feel comfortable everyday! You also brought he party with those magical painkillers and other fun cocktails and your impressive tablescapes! Chef… your food! I don’t know how you do it, but everything you made was delicious, comforting, and beautifully prepared. My daughter was talking about your crepes when we got home and everyone has asked me to take a bread class to try to learn how to make bread! I ate so much I’m going to need stretch pants for the foreseeable future—but it was worth every bite.
  
  Thank you for being a part of this journey. You weren’t just the crew; you were part of our family for a little while. And we’re grateful beyond words for the memories we made together.

  What an amazing week with an amazing crew! This is our second trip with you and we knew to expect no less. You have given us memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!
  We have been blessed to take such a trip, blessed with people that have taken such wonderful care of us, and blessed with new friends.
  We truly appreciate the tremendous amount of planning and hard work you all put into making our week so easy and incredibly relaxing. Those of us who sail have ultimate respect for your skill and knowledge.
