  • All scuba diving is itinerary and weather-dependent at the discretion of the captain

  CAPTAIN CALEB

  Caleb’s story begins far from tropical seas: growing up in Canada on the windswept Great Lakes around Toronto, he spent every summer on the water. Sailing was more than a pastime — it was a foundation. He raced sailboats in international regattas, building not just technical skill but a deep respect for the sea and wind. Pursuing that passion took him around the globe. He taught sailing to support his university, then explored sunny coasts: Costa Rica’s Pacific shores, the turquoise waters of the Bahamas, and the historic ports of the Mediterranean. Along the way, he completed intensive PADI dive training in Honduras (Bay Islands), bringing underwater exploration to his repertoire.

  Caleb is more than a captain. He’s your guide to the waters, the secret places, the best snorkel spots, sunsets from hidden bays, fishing lines over the side, stories beneath the stars. His attention to detail, calm competence, and warm hospitality are the bedrock of what makes a charter aboard EMYSA feel so uniquely personal.

  CHEF/MATE CHANEL

  Born in South Africa and raised in a Thai household, Chef Chanel grew up immersed in two vibrant cultures that shaped both her palate and her passion for hospitality. Splitting her childhood between South Africa and Thailand, she developed a love for travel and a deep appreciation for the way food connects people across cultures.

  Her culinary journey began in her mother’s guesthouse kitchen, where she learned the art of Thai cooking during school holidays. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion for food and hospitality. Soon after graduating Chanel followed in the footsteps of her older brother into the yachting world, completing Yacht Stewardess Academy in Cape Town, which included Barista, Mixology and Level 1 Wine Certifications.

  Chanel has spent multiple seasons in the Caribbean working aboard popular charter yachts. Known for attention to details, her elegant tablescapes, handcrafted cocktails, and warm guest service, Chanel quickly became a favorite among charter guests. Working alongside some of the top charter chefs in the region gave Chanel the confidence to transition from stewardess to chef.
  Chanel completed professional chef school in Cape Town. There, she combined her natural flair for flavor with formal training by blending her Thai-South African heritage, resulting in vibrant, flavorful menus that celebrate fresh ingredients and bold creativity.
  Now aboard S/V EMYSA, Chef Chanel brings her rich cultural background, refined service experience, and culinary creativity to every dish she prepares. Her journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and the joy of sharing unforgettable meals at sea.

  Hit the Jackpot

  As the trip planner for our group, I can truly say that we hit the jackpot! The best crew, beautiful boat and the most amazing backdrop made for an adventure of a lifetime. You were both so talented as captain & crew - the sailing was amazing & the food to die for. I'll be dreaming about our experiences!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ for years to come!   Raised the Bar

  We know we would have a phenomenal trip together, but we did not anticipate the two of you and how you would make our trip truly EPIC! Captain, you took such good care of us! The boat was spotless (and we did our best to keep it that way!), the curated adventures were so beautiful, and a new experience every day! The vistas were unparalleled. And then there was the food! Chef, you managed to blow us away with your amazing culinary skills. Every single meal was better than the prior. You raised the seemingly un-raisable bar every single day. The two of you never made us feel like an inconvenience or in your way. You were beyond professional and your interactions were so sweet. You are great partners and you made our trip infinitely more special. Thank you for our incredibly week aboard Emysa. We cannot wait to sail with you again!

  We'll Be Back

  Last week me and my wife and two other couples chartered the EMYSA for a week-long trip in the BVI. The trip totally exceeded our expectations in so many ways and as a group we attributed much of the experience to our crew. The attributes that made the cruise so enjoyable included:
  
  Hospitality - From when we arrived till the time we departed Captain and Chef were on point, attending to our every need, be it a fantastic meal, a cool fresh drink or a warm dry towel. I can't tell you how that type of attentiveness made for such an enjoyable experience.
  Work Ethic - From dawn till dusk both were cleaning the boat, preparing meals and readying water equipment for our use. They were moving the entire time making sure we were prepared for our next BVI experience.
  Knowledge - Captain captained the boat like a pro. Two of us are boat owners and were continually impressed by his yachtsmanship. Chef is a Five Star Chef! The meals she prepared were visually appealing and just as delicious.
  
  I have managed global sales and marketing organizations for most of my professional career and the Captain and Chef embody the attributes that make for winning teams. As an employer, they are excellent ambassadors of your brand. We were lucky to have them as our crew. We'll be back!

  Absolute Blast

  Priceless Memories

  Over the past 25 years, my wife and I have enjoyed sailing in the BVIs. Without a doubt, we have never had a crew we enjoyed sailing with or were taken care of as well as this trip with y’all. I have never eaten as well either. Sailing with four kids under 12 always adds a little spice but y’all were incredible with them and so caring to adjust the meals to cater to the littles. I haven’t ever seen my kids eat as much as they did this week. Captain thank you for adjusting our plan daily to make each day special for our kids and thank you for setting up all the excursions like taking my kids to catch lobster in the reef off Anegada. I also appreciate you waking up so early to run me over to the island to run at 5 am. As the kids get bigger, I am going to need y'all to move to a bigger boat so we can make more memories with you in the future. We can't imagine sailing with anyone else. Thank you again for such an incredible week full of priceless memories. We will be praying for you both that you will continue to make memories together, for safety for you both and knowledge that you are blessed.

  Pure Happiness

  Where do I even begin to describe this trip? For the short version, it was absolutely the trip of a lifetime in every way. For the long version, I am honestly not sure it could have been any better! I want to start off by saying that Justin & I are beyond grateful for your assistance in setting up this experience for us all. Apart from a 9-hour delay after bad weather in Texas heavily disrupted our flights on Thursday, we had the smoothest, most efficient adventure that anyone could have asked for. The boat was impeccable, the weather was fantastic, and the water never let up on stunning us throughout every minute of every day. We have dreamed for years of sharing this magical place with our friends and thank you again for providing us the perfect vessel for it.
  
  The crew. Oh how I could go on for days on how perfect they were Standing on the dock at the end of the trip, I heard Justin tell them “We would follow you two anywhere” and it absolutely warmed my heart. That was the feeling and sentiment all of us shared at the end of our trip. I speak for all of us when I say that we feel like we were specially blessed with those two for this past week.
  
  And the food …again I could go on for days. I have no idea how she managed to provide us with these amazing
  meals that were crafted with such delicacy and incredible flavors out of that small kitchen every day. The detail she puts into everything from her presentation to her amazing secret sauces was impeccable. She followed our preference sheet to a T, but also gave us many surprises along the way. The chocolate-on-chocolate birthday cake she made for Justin was definitely a fan favorite. She truly has unrivaled skill when it comes to provisioning. A couple of the highlights for us is when we all finally wore her down & she joined us all for an aggressive beach volleyball game & a visit to the swings at Little Pipe Cay. We also loved her cocktails. She makes a mean screwdriver with a tropical twist that we mechanics delightfully renamed “The Impact Driver” for the sneaky punch it packs.
  
  The captain truly has a passion for captaining, sailing and the ocean in general. I don’t think we are the easiest group to have aboard due to our need for constant adventure & entertainment, but he rose to the occasion. Justin & I have been so fortunate to have visited the twice before and we were honestly a little nervous that we had seen all there was to see. Reflecting, they gave us all new experiences and new anchorages throughout the week. He cultivated a very personal trip for us, and we cannot express our gratitude more. Please let me know if there is anyway or anywhere else we can express our happiness with our charter experience. We would love to come again for a future charter.

  Above and Beyond

  Thank you guys for such a fun and perfect week! I loved every part of it. The snorkeling, sailing, swimming, and the food! Chef you are so talented and beautiful and you have inspired me to live a fun life now I want (on the water) You're so Awesome and I have a girl crush on you! I'll miss your bites. Captain you're so funny and respectful and caring. Your eye for turtles and other creatures is amazing. You've inspired me to sail!! Thank you both for going above and beyond to make our week so fun. I will miss you two so much and if you ever want to adopt me as your on-boat designer I'll be there :) Merry Christmas and thank you again. I'll miss you!!!

  Special Week

  This has been such a wonderful week! Captain & Chef made it all the more special by their always positive, helpful ways! They were especially helpful making sure I was safely in and out of the dinghy - considering my age (78) & ability it was something we worried about but Captain really knows how to Cha-Cha-Cha! The special B-DAY for Kim & Ryan was honored with them staying up late decorating and baking a cake! Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented! They work tirelessly and always with a smile!
