What Types of Water Toys?
Dinghy
Dinghies are essential for reaching shore when anchored. However, they can also double as fun water toys! All crewed charter yachts have a dinghy which will take you ashore for some beach fun or land excursions. They also serve as your water sports vehicle where you can be towed behind for tubing, kneeboarding, wake boarding, water skiing or just cruising along beautiful coves.
Snorkel Gear
Exploring the underwater world is an amazing experiece. Your crew can guide you to the best snorkeling spots, whether it’s a vibrant coral reef or exploring a secluded bay. Some yachts have underwater cameras to capture the experience.Â
Scuba Diving
Some yachts offer Scuba diving onboard – most will have 3 dives included in a charter of 6 nights or more and then any additional dives can be paid for at the discretion of the captain. Some offer Open Water PADI qualifications where you could complete your e-learning and confined water skills prior to your charter and finish the open water dives on your charter. If you would like to dive and your crewed yacht does not offer this they can organize rendezvous dives with a local dive school for you.
Paddleboards and Kayaks
For a more tranquil experience, paddleboards and kayaks are excellent choices. They allow you to explore calm bays, coastlines and hidden beaches at your own pace. Plus, they’re great for fitness and offer a chance to connect with nature. Most crewed yachts have these readily available.Â
Wakeboards, Kneeboards and Water Skis
If you’re looking to showcase your skills or learn something new, wakeboarding and water skiing are fantastic options. These activities provide a perfect blend of fun and fitness. With a skilled crew member at the helm, you can be towed behind the tender (dingy), enjoying the thrill of gliding over waves and performing tricks.Â
Towable Tube
These round or rectangular shaped tubes can accommodate one or more. Towed on a long line from the yachts tender, hours of fun can be had riding the waves, holding on and trying not to come off!Â
eFoil
An efoil, or electric hydrofoil board, allows you to glide above the water with minimal effort. it works with an electric motor to power a propeller, which propels the board forward. You can control the motor with a remote control to adjust the speed and power of the motor.Â
Underwater Sea scooters and SeaBobs
Underwater scooters and SeaBobs offer an exciting way to explore under the water. These electric devices allow you to glide effortlessly through the water, making it easier to discover marine life without the need for fins or extensive swimming skills.Â
Floating Island
For families and groups, floating islands provide hours of entertainment. They’re perfect for socializing, sunbathing, or just having fun splashing around. These inflatable toys can be anchored near the yacht, allowing everyone to enjoy the sun and water.Â
Jet Ski
Jet Skis may be part of a larger vessels water toy collection. These fun water craft are a great way to explore further afield from your crewed yacht. Please note that Jet skis are not allowed to be used in the BVI. If chartering a yacht in Croatia a license is required to drive a jet ski.
Kiteboarding and Wing Foiling
Some yachts offer kiteboarding and wing foiling equiptment. Kiteboarding involves riding on a board while being towed by a large controllable kite. The kite is flown in the wind and will propel the rider across the water. Wing foiling involves riding a board, with a hyrdofoil, while holding a wing, which is similar to a small sail, held by the rider.Â

- Slide – some larger yachts have an inflatable slideÂ
- Hobie cat – a small sailing catamaranÂ
- Subwing – This water toy consists of two wings that the rider holds onto while being towed by the dingy. The rider can manoeuvre the wings deeper down in the water or closer to the surface.Â
- Flyboard – a water jet powered board that gains throttle from by diverting the water output from a connected jet ski propelling you high above the water.Â

We just finished 8 nights aboard the incredible yacht Aeolus and with the most amazing crew. A huge huge Thank you to the crew for all their efforts and attention to detail.
There were 8 of us on board, not including the 4 crew. We had 4 teenagers and 4 parents. We all had the time of a lifetime. The layout of the boat is perfect with 4 very nice guest cabins and ensuite heads; with the Master being just huge and spacious. From the most wonderful welcome on board and delicious lunch for all, we knew instantly we were in for a treat.
The captain-is simply awesome!! He has a deliberate, calm and thoughtful manor which inspires confidence and underplays his abilities. He expertly managed to drive the yacht into tight gorgeous anchor spots, to set our sails in all conditions, to fix any little thing that needed a fix. Most importantly, he's great to be around and share his knowledge of anything. ((there are some fun hidden secrets about him... try to find out on board...) He set a very thoughtful itinerary and planned some amazing surprises for us...
The chef: WOW! We weren't an easy group to please with 4 teenagers but I think they gobbled everything down. They ate vegetables--all of them!!! She very carefully and thoughtfully prepared a menu for us and had amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners with an incredible snack/happy hour. The kids looked forward to each meal everyday, but somehow happy hour snack became the talk of the afternoon...everyone excited to see what amazing snack would magically appear. She hand made our favorite deserts once she discovered them and each night we were treated to this amazing feast. Everyday we had chef made breads that were incredible, unbelievable fruit platters, the most delicious lunches and dinners all the while she made any request feel like it was just nothing. She's just simply better than any restaurant.
The stewardess: What does one write about this sweet, kind & wonderful person! She served us for 8 days, every little thing we needed and always with a big smile and kindness in her eyes. She made the most amazing cocktails and fruit juices--which all of us just loved. the kids drank GREEN fruit juices for breakfast, begging if she had more! GREEN ones.. OMG. They were so good. She planned fun games for us and is super creative. She is like the entire staff of a Four Seasons hotel all in one person.
The stew. He's a real life spiderman! We have never seen anyone more nibble and with more speed. Once it's time for all the toys--the magic begins. He's EVERYWHERE! Like 100 people, he has one speed--turbo. Not only does he set up an amazing array of toys and water rafts and all; but he's an expert in all the tough ones. He gently helped two of our group learn to e foil in 7 days and they were honestly experts by the end. He's a master at all the fun stuff--an expert tender driver to pull the kids on tubes or whatever. (I think they were on the tube for hours every day and he kindly just kept going). The crew are expert scuba divers with the captain being able to lead discovery dives for first timers as well!
Bottom line... Aeolus is the YACHT to charter with this CREW. It's about the CREW! If you are looking for the most amazing trip, book it now. We are trying to figure out how to return next year...
