FIRST OFFICER IAN
Ian De Souza, born in Brazil and raised in the U.S., combines diverse cultures into his thriving yachting career. He started as a captain on sailing yachts in January 2017, leading weeklong charters and later transitioned to serve as an officer on motor yachts. Ian has adventured through the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the U.S., committed to delivering top-notch service and crafting memorable journeys. His broad experience and zeal for yachting distinguish him as an indispensable crew member.
BOSUN MATHEW
At just 21, Mathew Miller from Florida is already a standout bosun in the yachting industry, with three years under his belt. With a background in a military family – his dad was a Coast Guard captain – Mathew’s love for the ocean runs deep. He mixes his passions for fishing, travel, and water sports into his work, always aiming to give guests unforgettable experiences at sea.

Alex Bush’s transition from a purchasing agent to a passionate yachtsman started unexpectedly in 2013. Meeting a sailboat captain who lived unconventionally sparked Alex’s interest in yachting. He quit his job and headed to Fort Lauderdale with friends, where he not only began his career in the yachting industry but also met his future wife. Traveling the world, Alex cherishes the incredible experiences yachting brings and aims to deliver unique sea adventures for his guests. Ready for an unforgettable journey? CHIEF STEWARDESS SANDRA
Sandra Murphy excels in blending her love for the sea with exceptional hospitality as Chief Stewardess. With ten years in the yachting industry, her experience spans yachts from 100ft to 250ft, where she’s dedicated to providing five-star service. Raised between the US and a small Irish fishing village, Sandra’s connection to the ocean runs deep, influencing her career from a young age. Living in Duxbury, a seaside town near Boston, further solidified this bond. Her commitment shines through in her efforts to ensure every guest on board enjoys a remarkable experience, showcasing her meticulousness and warmth. Sandra’s passion and dedication make her stand out in creating unforgettable journeys at sea.
SECOND STEWARDESS LAIKIN
Laikin Dooley mixes a passion for the ocean with a talent for creating unforgettable experiences. A keen swimmer and snorkeler, travel enthusiast, and lover of quality time with loved ones, Laikin embodies adventure. Holding STCW and PADI Dive certifications, safety and marine expertise come as second nature. Whether mixing drinks as a skilled bartender or displaying competitive flair on the soccer field, Laikin thrives on diversity. Above all, the thrill of unpredictability and making guests’ trips exceptional drives Laikin’s love for the yachting industry, where every journey is enhanced by a heartfelt commitment to stellar service.
CHEF SAMUEL
Sam Dix entered the culinary world almost 20 years ago, driven by his love for food and hospitality. His dedication over a decade saw him working alongside renowned Chefs in various cities, polishing his skills in top-notch kitchens, including those winning James Beard Awards and in luxury hotels. After culinary school, Sam focused on creating a unique culinary style and learning the ropes of launching restaurants. He succeeded in both high-end settings and casual, scratch-kitchen restaurants through his creativity and passion.
In 2020, when the pandemic changed the culinary scene, Sam followed his dream of getting his captain’s license and shifted to yachting. This new chapter over two years brought unexpected achievements and growth. Now, as the Director of Culinary at Serenity, Sam brings his vast experience, ready to work with one of the best crews in the industry. His journey reflects continuous growth and a dynamic blend of culinary expertise.
